THE ROGUE INITIATIVE FOR A VITAL ECONOMY

David Eliasen moved to Southern Oregon in 1979 after completing his B.A. degree in Secondary Education from Western Oregon University. He has worked for the City of Ashland since 1980, first in construction for the Water Department for 14 years and then at the Water Treatment Plant for nine years. For the past 19 years he has worked in the Electric Department doing construction, meter reading and customer service. He and his wife Diane Paulson began a small distillery in 2006 producing Organic Nation vodka and gin. They were ahead of the curve in small distilling and did not have the resources to overcome the marketing and regulatory hurdles they encountered. The business closed in 2014. He is committed to raising awareness of the importance of community in promoting the unique opportunities this region could provide for all.
